Arhaus

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

I got the mail yesterday and the annual sale catalog from Arhaus was there. The catalog itself was gorgeous. As a graphic designer I would love to have Arhaus as a client. ( I think I know which agency in Cleveland did this one) I've done a lot of catalog work before but none had such beautiful products. I love Arhaus.

Here are a few of my favorite things from the catalog. I've been eyeing this chandelier for a while now. If you don't get their catalog I highly recommend signing up to recieve their beautiful mail pieces. I know I don't usually post about furniture but I just had to share!

GigPosters

I have a slight obsession with the website GigPosters.com. I could spend hours looking at the all the cool designs. I'd like a whole room in my house plastered with these cool band posters. The designers that create these are extremely talented. Maybe someday when we finish the basement I will buy a few of my favorites!

Destination: Unknown

Monday, July 30, 2007

These are really cool travel journals from a company called Destination:Unknown. You can choose from two different sizes. The pocket size is 3 5/8" x 5 1/8" and the notebook is 5" x 7".
If you're heading out for a trip before the summer ends you might want to consider picking up a journal to remember all the details.

My House

One thing I really need to do this summer is add some personal touches to the house. I'd really love some advice on what to do in the family room. The back wall behind the couch is so large and I'm not sure what to hang there. I'm also trying to find something for above the fireplace.

I was trying to find something I liked over at the decor8 rooms I *heart* flickr page. It's a great resource.

SusyJack

Friday, July 27, 2007

When I first saw these tags from SusyJack I thought they were door hangers. I thought to myself those would be cute hanging around the house. Then I realized they were gift tags of course. I love the colors they are just gorgeous. They would look awesome on a matching gift bag.

SusyJack's etsy shop has a lot of great paper items. Click here to view more notecard designs and journals.

I also love the bio of SusyJack. The bio mentions how SusyJack got started when it's creator was dismissed from a job. Sometimes it can be tough when you get let go from a job, other times it works out for the best. Looks like that's the case with SusyJack. Good Luck Susy, your work is great.

Some things are just to good to not post. I was in a meeting yesterday at work and we had some chocolate covered popcorn from Dylan's Candy Bar. Paper Shop ink. Notecards

Wednesday, July 25, 2007

One year ago today I lost one of my best friends, my grandpa. He passed away from cancer after battling the disease for over a year. Ever since that day I donate as much as I can to the cancer society. Today and for all of next week all profits made from the sale of the notecards above will be donated to the american cancer society.

Cards are 4.25 x 5.5. The notecards are blank on the inside but if you would like something custom printed on the inside just let me know. I'm more than happy to do that. The cost is $18.00 for 10 cards and envelopes. There is no shipping cost to anywhere in the USA. At this time payments can be made through paypal at candis@papershopink.com . These cards will be added the the store later on this month.

GuitarMania 2007

This is a pretty cool event that happens every year downtown in Cleveland. It's really neat to walk around and see these huge guitars. They are amazing and so detailed. They will be auctioned off this weekend.

About: GuitarMania is a Greater Cleveland community public art project that has raised more than $1.5 million for its two benefiting charities – United Way of Greater Cleveland and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s education fund. The project consists of large, oversize Fender Stratocaster guitars that are creatively transformed into works of art by local artists and national celebrities and displayed on the city streets of Cleveland for residents and visitors to enjoy from June through November 2007. Corporations, organizations and individuals sponsor the guitars and select from a variety of local artists to paint, sculpt, or decorate them. Celebrity artists are also recruited to paint and decorate guitars. At the end of the display period the guitars are auctioned at a gala event at the Rock Hall, unless the corporate sponsors buy back their guitars for permanent display at their company.

Unrelated but Important

About 2 months ago I met Ramona Rusell, founder of Type A Solutions over the phone. After we spoke I went to her website and browsed around for a while. I found a page on her site talking about her sister Liz. My heart sank reading the story Ramona told. Her sister passed away from Breast Cancer at the age of 28. At the time Ramona was raising money for Relay for Life, a walk celebrating those who have passed away from cancer. Ramona and her team raised $22,000 this year.

Last night I received and email from Ramona about a new website called Uptown Liz. Uptown Liz promotes products from companies whose proceeds directly give back to charitable organizations. Liz was a fashionista and Uptown Liz was created in her memory.

So, next time you plan to do some online shopping check out Uptown Liz first. Why not give back to a charity close to your heart while shopping?

My Cup of Tea

Monday, July 9, 2007

This is unrelated to stationery but it's so cool. Our hotel this weekend in Montreal was near China Town. We took a short walk through on Saturday and came across this little tea shop, My cup of tea. It caught my eye cause the shop was very modern and trendy looking.

The tea comes in a dried ball and when you brew the tea or add boiling water it unfolds to a beautiful flower. They recommend you make the tea in a glass teapot so you can view the flower unfolding. I don't drink tea that much so I didn't really want to invest in a glass teapot, but I was tempted cause it looked so neat!

Triple strand bracelet

Friday, July 6, 2007

Hope you all are enjoying my jewelry posts this week. I'm having fun describing the details and all the hard work I put into each and every piece =)
Don't be shy with the comments...I like to hear what all y'all think!

This is another cool bracelet I made a few months ago. These cube crystals are coated on three sides with a special finish to give them a very silvery, reflective shine, almost like a mirror. Each crystal is bookended with a silver daisy spacer bead and strung on hand made links. The bracelet is finished off with a quality sterling silver slider clasp that keeps the three stands perfectly aligned. Looks equally fantastic with jeans and a tank or your little black dress. It's a real statement piece! Email me if you're interested in having one made for yourself...or want to be a GREAT gift-giver and buy one for a friend =)

I should also mention that I do custom bridal jewelry. So, if you know a bride who would appreciate a unique, one-of-a-kind design for herself or her bridal party, send her my way! (Wouldn't this make an exquisite bridal accessory?!)

Crystal flowers necklace

This is my newest jewelry creation. It started out with a LOT of sketches on paper and trial and error until I got exactly the results I wanted. I use nylon coated silver plated wire to weave together a flower pattern using complementary tones of Swarovski crystals, outlining the whole bracelet with tiny irridescent seed beads. I LOVE these! I made a necklace and bracelet set for my mom for mother's day this year and she adores them :-) If you don't want to splurge on a set, the bracelet still looks beautiful as a stand-alone piece. Total width measures 1/2 inch, and both the necklace and bracelet are made with an adjustable clasp for exactly the right fit. The necklace is designed to fit like a choker, and the weave lends additional give, so they are extremely comfortable to wear. These are available as custom orders only at this time, so if you're interested, here's the scoop...

The bracelet is $150.00 and the choker is $250.00, HOWEVER, if you place an order before this Monday, July 9, I will sell you a bracelet/choker set for $300.00! That's a $100 savings! Once they find their way onto papershopink they'll be full price, so snag this incredible deal while you can! Just send me an email indicating your color choice of either a red/white, pink, orange or blue crystal flower set. Include your name, phone number and mailing address. Send your $300.00 payment through PayPal to candis@papershopink.com. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery from the time your order is placed.

That's it! Congratulate yourself on purchasing one of the prettiest sets of jewelry you'll ever own! Be confident that every piece of my jewelry is personally constructed by me using using only the finest materials. Treat these as you would any piece of fine jewelry and you'll get a lifetime of use out of them. They can be cleaned by gently wiping with a jewelry polishing cloth, and should be stored in a jewelry box or bag when not in use. If you would like to see a larger image of any of these pieces, just send me an email. Just remember that photos don't do justice...these really glisten! Here's a tidbit of trivia—In the U.S., glass must contain at least 1% lead to qualify as crystal. Swarovski crystals have a 30% lead content (WOW!), and the lead is what gives them their diamond-like sparkle. SENSATIONAL!!

Hello Everyone!

Monday, July 2, 2007

Howdy everyone! It's Natasha, and as promised, I will be your guest blogger for the week. Candis has had my "rock candy" bracelet up on papershopink.com, which you may have seen, so I thought I'd start by showing you the same bracelet in a couple of other colors. As you know, one is rarely ever enough when it comes to anything, especially cool bracelets like these! Photographs just don't do them justice...once you see one dazzle in the sunlight, you'll be in love! If you have a special color request, you can email me and I'll let you know what's available. These are made exclusively with Swarovski crystals, and Swarovski is always coming up with beautiful new colors. I string these on 19-strand nylon coated silver plated wire and finish them off with two 8mm sterling silver beads and a bright round sterling silver toggle clasp. A simple but gorgeous design that will definitely turn heads. You can even double them up for an absolutely striking effect! If you decide to order one this week, I'll throw in a FREE pair of matching dangly earrings!! Just place your order through papershopink and send me an email mentioning this blog. Stay tuned for tomorrow's blog...I have much more bling bling to share!

Silver Jewelry Club

Starting off the jewelry posts for the week.

If your looking for some really inexpensive jewelry to compliment an outfit, here's a fun way to find it. The Silver Jewelry Club is a jewelry manufacturing company based in Los Angeles. At this site you can get exclusive sterling silver jewelry with genuine gemstones, FREE. Well almost free, you have to pay for shipping. The products rotate every few minutes. There's always something new here.

I've never bought anything from here, but there are some good reviews on the site.
